Tier List Update Changelog – Hieronymus – August 30th 2023

Table of Contents

With Hieronymus coming back into rotation, we have decided to revisit the ratings for both Extreme and Insane. The changes include students that we have misevaluated or had no ratings as we did not know enough about their use case.

Extreme

Noa

Noa
Rating: N/A 🡺 S

Since Hieronymus has a lot of DEF, Noa can be used as an alternative to Akane for her DEF down.

Toki

Toki
Rating: SSS 🡺 SS

While Toki deals a high amount of damage, you are required to transform first, which can eat up quite a bit of time, which is not ideal in Extreme. Toki mainly shines in Torment and Insane, where the fights can drag on, which makes transforming less of an issue.

Insane

Hiyori

Hiyori
Rating: SSS 🡺 SS

When the tier list was first made, we had overestimated some of the Arius squad members, specifically Hiyori and Misaki. In addition to this, Hiyori does not provide enough utility to the team to be rated alongside other staple supports such as Ako, Himari, and Fuuka (New Year). However, Hiyori still remains a strong option for Hieronymus when paired with Arius students for her DEF down.

Misaki

Misaki
Rating: SSS 🡺 S

When the tier list was first made, we had overestimated some of the Arius squad members, specifically Hiyori and Misaki. She has been dropped down a few tiers as her personal damage output doesn’t quite stack up when compared to other damage dealers. However, she still has a niche use case as she is part of the Arius squad, which can allow her to find some niche uses.

Serina (Christmas)

Serina (Christmas)
Rating: N/A 🡺 SS

Due to how Hieronymus Insane works, Serina (Christmas) has enough time to stack her buffs for the team, which makes her a strong pick for Multi-DPS teams.

Yuuka

Yuuka
Rating: N/A 🡺 A

Can be used as a backup tank if you find yourself needing a 2nd or 3rd team. Overall, she wouldn't usually be your first choice for Hieronymus

Yuuka (Track)

Yuuka (Track)
Rating:
N/A 🡺 SS

Due to having Mystic armor, she can be used as a tank. However, the main reason you would choose to bring Yuuka (Track) to your team would be for her EX Skill. The shield provided is a lifesaver and can completely ignore the Curse mechanic if a student is at full HP and has a shield. In addition to this, the repositioning can enable certain students to hit their skills, such as Mutsuki’s Basic.

Ui

Ui
Rating: SS 🡺 S

Unfortunately, Ui has been brought down a tier as there is now an alternative to her role (NY Fuuka). In addition to this, Ui also has Light armor, which can make her highly prone to being one-shotted in Insane. But if you are able to keep her alive, then the utility she provides is always a welcome addition.

Aru

Aru
Rating: SSS 🡺 SS

While Aru’s damage output still stays competitive when compared to the other alternative damage dealers in SSS, her Light armor makes it difficult for most players to bring the most out of her kit in Insane. Note that her issues stem from her survivability. If you can work around this, then Aru can work perfectly fine in Insane.
